A smart follow up to Sapiens it looks into the future by considering the past. That tempers the conversation but still leaves room for rather worrying dystopian futures if our track record has anything to go by.
While it focuses a lot on the darker arts of any potential future it does cite historical events to build its case.
While not as good as Sapiens it remained thought-provoking as ever. My real qualm was that while everything seemed on the table Consciousness was not, it remained sacred in the book. Which causes a dissonance because everything else could be explained away in the book.
